Horch Roofing was chosen out of more than 1,000 members to receive the 2013 “Small Business of the Year” Award at the Annual Awards Gala, hosted by the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce at the Samoset Resort last Saturday. The award is given to a business of fewer than 50 people that makes a positive contribution to the community, has a commitment to excellence and is recognized by peers as a leader in what they do. The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce boasts the largest number of small business members in the state of Maine.
In his acceptance speech, Peter Horch referenced the significant contributions of each member of his team in deserving this honor, and shared how his team and his clients are like family. “I take pride in surrounding myself with people smarter than me,” he shared. “We will celebrate this honor all year long, but come Monday morning, we have 100 contracts and clients to take care of. We are focused and ready.”
Horch Roofing provides the highest quality roofing services in Midcoast Maine, which include standing seam metal roofing, asphalt shingle roofing, EPDM rubber ply roofing, and seamless gutter installation. The company is deeply committed to the environment and takes the time and added expense to recycle all of their roofing materials, totaling more than 2.5 million pounds of debris so far. They are the only roofing contractor in Maine to recycle 100% of debris.
Horch Roofing, a Midcoast Maine roofing company that has been in business since 2002, is considered Maine’s choice roofing contractor. Since the business started, Horch Roofing has seen an average of 30% growth per year and has created more than 30 stable year-round jobs in Midcoast Maine. In 2009, Horch Roofing even began forming their own metal roofing materials at their location in Warren, which helped contribute to this growth and job creation.
“Being chosen for the Small Business of the Year award amongst so many talented peers is a tremendous honor for Horch Roofing,” said owner Peter Horch. “Every member of our team contributes to our success and striving for excellence in all we do for our clients and how we serve our community is part of what we do each day.”
The Horch Roofing team has a strong commitment to professionalism and excellence which shines whenever their projects are completed, and was a driving force for the selection committee when giving then the Small Business of the Year award. Horch Roofing is also proud to be part of two award-winning projects honored for 2013; the Renovated Building Award given to On The Water In Maine Vacation Rentals; and the New Building Award Phi Home Design both had their roofs done by the Company.
“It’s a proud moment for all of us at Horch Roofing to also be part of these two award-winning projects and work with these great clients. We are so grateful to our customers, our peers, and the Midcoast community” said Horch.
The Horch Roofing crew also does its part by helping many local community organizations through donations of time and labor. Midcoast Habitat for Humanity has received 3 roofs, free of charge; Sixty-Three Washington Street, an assisted living facility in Camden, received a new roof over their front porch; and the crew donned pink T-shirts and sweatshirts two years in a row to raise awareness about breast cancer.
