Horch Roofing Enjoys Giving Back

Posted on January 14, 2020 · Posted in Supporting Our Community

Horch Roofing is dedicated to supporting the community’s unique needs.

Take a look at some of the organizations we have worked with recently within the area.

Midcoast Habitat for Humanity

For the last 10 years, Horch Roofing has worked with Habitat for Humanity, providing support for ongoing projects in the development of homes for those in need. Over the years, we’ve donated both labor and shingles to over a dozen homes built by Habitat for Humanity in the Midcoast.

President Peter Horch and 2019 recipient Justin Secotte stand outside Horch Roofing’s office as he receives his scholarship check. Secotte will study mechanical and electrical engineering at the University of Maine at Orono.

Scholarships for MidCoast School of Technology and Trades Scholarships

Recognizing the importance of training and building the next generation of trades-skilled professionals, at Horch Roofing we have routinely donated to scholarship programs. In 2019, we donated $3,500 through two direct scholarships through the Trade School Scholarship Program. In 2018, our organization donated $2,500 through the MidCoast School of Technology by awarding scholarships to three deserving students.

Five Town Little League

Another important way that Horch Roofing gives back is through the Five Town Little League. The league, which is comprised of Rockport, Lincolnville, Camden, Hope, and Appleton residents, is a vibrant youth organization. Horch Roofing sponsors a tee-ball team each year. The team’s name is “The Roofers.”

Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Mid-Maine

Supporting all of those in need is a mission for all of us at Horch Roofing. We do this in various ways throughout the year, and one of our favorites is by providing financial support and participation in the Bowl for Kid’s Sake. This program, which brings in hundreds of people, raises money to support the good work that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine does within the community to change kids’ lives.

Preble Street Homeless Shelter in Portland

Another community giving project for Horch Roofing is done through the Preble Street Homeless Shelter in Portland. This organization is vital to the development and support of those in need within the region. Preble Street helps with housing, advocacy, and resources, and provides teen services as well as anti-trafficking support.
